Scalable Clusters
2002
Based on a room of ganged computer servers that were being used as a single super computer at Argonne National Lab, Scalable Clusters is made up of stacks of cardboard computers, animated by LED lights and interior fans that blow softly at the viewer. The fans slowly change pitch, creating a tune, as the computers serenade each other and the humans in their midst.
